Iraq: Genel Energy receives payment for Shaikan oil sales

Gulf Keystone confirms that a gross payment of $29.4 million ($23.0 million net to GKP) has been received from the Kurdistan Regional Government ( KRG ). The payment is comprised of gross $22.3 million ($17.5 million net) for
Shaikan crude oil sales during February 2021 and gross $7.1 million ($5.5 million net) in relation to the arrears from the outstanding November 2019 to February 2020 invoices. Following receipt of the arrears payment, the current outstanding balance is $65.2 million net to GKP.
Chile: Statkraft to build its first wind farms in the world’s southernmost country Chile

Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy generator, will build its
first wind farms in Chile, expanding its renewable energy generation capacity in the South American country amid an increasing demand for hydro, wind and solar power in the southernmost nation in the world.
Combined with the company’s existing hydropower assets, Statkraft will reach a generating capacity of 366 megawatt (MW) by the end of 2023. The 102 MW Torsa wind power project consists of three wind farms, totalling 19 wind turbines supplied by German manufacturer Nordex.

The Andrews Labor Government is encouraging learner and young drivers to build up more experience driving after dark, with a new campaign warning of the added risk of night-time driving.
New research shows that in their first year on the roads, P-plate drivers are seven times more likely to be killed or injured while driving at night than fully licensed drivers.
On average, 31 first-year P-platers are killed or seriously injured while driving at night in Victoria each year of approximately 50,000 new drivers annually.
The TAC’s new campaign urges learner drivers to ensure their driving practice hours include enough night driving, and reminds parents of learners to talk to their children about the dangers of night-time driving.
AUBURN â State Rep. Ben Smaltz, R-Auburn, is puzzling over the failure of his gun-rights bill in the Indiana Senate this week.
Smaltzâs âlawful carryâ bill sought to allow law-abiding Hoosier adults to carry handguns without the need to obtain state permits.
It passed the Indiana House of Representatives by a 65-31 vote on Feb. 22.
Twenty-one of the 50 state senators had signed as co-sponsors of the bill, including both state senators who represent DeKalb County, Sue Glick, R-LaGrange, and Dennis Kruse, R-Auburn.
His bill almost certainly would have passed in the Senate if it had been allowed to come to a vote, Smaltz said Friday.
